ABOUT AIDN

A more secure Australia through enhancing industry and defence capability.

How we help members:

  • Assist members in their dealings with the Australian Government (including Government Departments) and Defence prime contractors.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of Australian Government and prime contractor defence and security-related policy and procurement information to members.
  • Represent members in the presentation of a consolidated Australian SME view, independent of federal or sectoral interests, to both Federal and State/Territory Governments and Defence Prime Contractors.
  • Facilitate networking between Federal, State/Territory and regional Defence Industry bodies aimed to optimise Australian industrial capability/content in all Defence and Security-related contracts.
  • Assist in the development of policies focused on SMEs operating in the Defence and Security sectors.
  • Actively advocate to Federal and State/Territory Governments, Prime Contractors and Government departments such as Defence and Border Force in order to maximise the opportunities for Australian SMEs.
  • Provide members an opportunity for networking (including at non AIDN-led exhibitions and conferences) - facilitating collaboration between members to supply greater capacity and capability to the Australian Defence Forces and security agencies.
  • Inform members of available training relevant to their business needs.

Core Strategies

Advocacy: AIDN National, through understanding the National industry’s view, will represent SMEs by providing a “Voice” for their issues and concerns and promoting members capabilities.

Representation: AIDN National will provide leadership and build and maintain key partnerships at local, national and international level, through influencing national policy and strategy and maintaining key relationships with political and Government decision makers.

Member Services: AIDN National, acting as a central point of coordination, will service its chapters and their members through providing relevant information and awareness on the defence and security environments, opportunities for collaboration and engagement and Governance oversight.

Also please note the terms and conditions below. Acceptance of these terms and conditions are implied if a ticket is purchased for this event:

    1. You must adhere to social distancing at all times (1.5m away from others). AIDN will have Staff doing random checks and if you are not social distancing you will be asked to social distance and given a warning. If we have to give you more than 2 warnings you will be asked to leave the event as AIDN may be fined by the police for attendees not social distancing and AIDN takes this very seriously.
    2. If you are feeling unwell or have a fever, have been in close contact with a known active case of COVID-19, have travelled overseas in the previous 14 days, have been to a COVID affected area in the past 14 days (please refer to www.covid19.act.gov.au), please do not attend the event and notify AIDN on administration@aidn.org.au so your ticket can be reallocated (this does not mean reallocated to another person in your organisation - see T&C 8. The ticket will be forfeited). If symptoms develop during the event you are to leave immediately and seek medical advice.
    3. Attendees will be required to show a valid photo identification (e.g. drivers licence, 18+ card, passport) to AIDN staff to be checked off the attendee list to ensure you have a valid ticket. If you do not have a valid ticket matched to your name you will not be permitted entry as tickets are not transferable. This is a requirement of the ACT COVID tracing.
    4. Attendees will need to complete a contact registry which will ask if you have been in contact with anyone known to have COVID-19 and you will be required to provide your full name, organisation name and mobile phone number as well as answer questions regarding COVID-19 through the Check in CBR App.
    5. Attendees may have their temperature checked before entry. If your temperature is above normal, you will be asked to stand to the side for 15 minutes (we understand that when rushing it's normal for your temperature to rise slightly so the 15 minutes is giving you time to cool down) and then we will take your temperature again. If your temperature is above average you will not be permitted to enter the event.
    6. After doing your contact tracing and temperature reading, you will be asked to use hand sanitiser before entering the event. There will also be plenty of hand sanitiser inside for your use and we encourage regular use of the hand sanitiser.
    7. We ask members and attendees not to shake hands and to elbow bump or wave to each other instead.
    8. Tickets are non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled) and non-transferrable and no name changes will be accepted. On the night names will be checked against the registration to ensure only booked attendees are permitted entry as per COVID regulations with attendees required to show a valid photo identification to prove their registration.
    9. AIDN will be monitoring the location/address of attendees and has the ability to rescind the right of entry of ticket purchasers from a designated hot spot location.
    10. As per current ACT COVID requirements, attendees are not permitted to stand/move around whilst drinking beverages. Attendees must be seated to drink beverages.
    11. If any individual who may be at a higher risk of severe disease AIDN warns you about your risk of attendance and takes no responsibility for your attendance if you become ill.
    12. AIDN recommends attendees download and activate the COVIDSafe app and the Check In CBR app.
    13. These terms and conditions are subject to change and we endeavour to advise you of these changes as soon as we can.
